This is your brain on sugar

So, read this story.  Aren't you glad that such a hardened criminal is being properly dealt with?  All I have to say is that I totally saw it coming.  I wrote this short story about four years ago at the Clarion writing workshop in Michigan.  It's called Sweet Stuff.  Just to warn you, my fellow workshop participants saw it as a disguised argument for the legalization of drugs.  I say it is just about candy (sorry about the formatting issues, it's a google docs thing).

Yes, I am perfectly content being a homeschool freak. Unbelievable, and yet...believable.

I read your story and I loved it. I loved that you said, "It's just a story about candy". You are such a talented writer. Crazy news story though. Aaron would sell candy bars in Jr. High - I can't imaine if would do it today - he would probably be in a federal prison!

Anne- I hear you.

Trena- Thanks. I had a fun time writing that story. When I took it to be critiqued by the writing workshop I was doing at the time, every person said how surprised they were that I would write a story about the legalization of drugs. I think that my point was more about the fact that it is just candy, not drugs. So why is the educational system getting so worked up about it?

Hey I haven't had time to read your whole story yet but I have read about half of it and I love it! I don't know if I have read anything that you have written yet but you do a great job, I can't wait until you finish your book someday and become famous then I can say that I knew you. You could have been right on the money four years ago, time will tell.
